Why do we exist?
The Global Food Donation Policy Atlas, a study conducted by Harvard Law School in 2023, indicates that over 1.3 billion tons of food are wasted worldwide, and in Ecuador, over 900,000 tons are wasted. Meanwhile, ECLAC reports that we are one of the countries with a high rate of chronic child malnutrition in the region, not to mention that 32.7% of the population suffers from moderate to severe food insecurity.
We have a moral responsibility and obligation not to allow food waste and loss while there is hunger among children, the elderly, pregnant mothers, people with disabilities, or illnesses
